3 day Anti Polio Compaign Start in Gilgit Pakistan


Three day national immunization campaign against Polio also began in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Health Department has fixed a target of two hundred thirty eight thousand children up to five years to administer anti-polio drops.
Over fifteen hundred medical teams have been constituted to make the campaign success.

Studies reveal that in many cases, blood cells burst causing massive bleeding due to persistent heat. Also there were chances of ceasing of the cardiac activity at high temperatures while the consistent high temperature in environment may cause stiffness of muscles bringing them in contracted state. The symptoms in case of heat exhaustion were impaired consciousness, prolonged durations of sleep, restlessness and irritability, headache, blurring of vision, tremors and fits and scanty dark urine in decreased quantity. Experts suggest people to wear light-coloured and loose-fitting clothes and avoid exposure to sun to beat the heat.

World Labour Day to be observed on May 1

Labour day will be observed across the world including Pakistan tomorrow to highlight sacrifices and rights of labourers. The theme of this year Labour Day is "Uniting Workers for Social and Economic Advancement". Labour unions will organize seminars, rallies and parades where union leaders will throw light on importance of Labour Day. Pakistan’s first labor policy was devised in 1972, in which May 1 was declared an official holiday. This policy also formulated the creation of the Social Security Network, Old Age Benefit Schemes and Workers Welfare Fund. Pakistan’s constitution also contains various provisions and articles about labor rights.
